If you’ve followed my photography for any length of time, you’ve probably seen this face fairly often. I met Carli and her twin sister Maezi when they were 5 years old and I was running the after-school childcare program at their school. They walked in the week before school started and the rest was history. A lifelong friendship was born. From teaching them to tie their shoelaces and swim to ‘chaperoning’ them on their school trip to New York and visits back and forth between Texas and Charleston, life with these two is always an adventure. And here we are 13 years later and they are graduating from high school!
During their Spring Break, Carli and Maezi came out to visit me (right before Covid lockdowns started!), and we got to do their senior pictures. Photoshoots with my twins are always a little more casual as we are often running around trying to fit in a thousand activities at once during visits, so often the photos themselves are spread out over multiple days, locations, hairstyles and lighting conditions. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to capture this season of their lives, and can’t wait for the next one. I love watching Carli grow up into a young woman and pursue what makes her happy! Can’t wait to see what the future holds.
To see some of our other shoots together over the years, check out them at 5 years old in my studio days, and their last visit to Charleston (they let me do their hair that time)!
