Jenny and Sean came from Chicago for their garden courtyard wedding at Planters Inn exactly one year (to the day!) after I photographed their beautiful sunrise engagement session downtown. I can’t believe how fast this year flew by! Jenny and Sean are such an adorable couple, and photographing them always makes me happy. These two have so much fun together, and Jenny is always laughing and smiling at Sean.

The wedding day began in at Planters Inn’s beautiful bridal suite before their First Look at the quintessentially Charleston Mills House. This had to be one of my favorite First Looks I’ve ever photographed! …both because of the gorgeous location and how special it was to see Jenny and Sean’s emotional reactions seeing each other for the first time. After the First Look and wedding party portraits along Charleston’s cobblestone streets, it was time for the ceremony in the Planters Inn courtyard. Jenny loved the juxtaposition between the city outside and the lush, serene garden courtyard inside and used it as inspiration for the wedding day. The natural green and white hues and lush flora in the garden carried over into Jenny’s bouquet and floral arrangements, and lots of flowers and candles were added to create a romantic atmosphere. Most of Jenny and Sean’s friends traveled to Charleston for the wedding as well (many for their first time), and the wedding was an intimate celebration with their closest friends and family. Planters Inn is in the heart of downtown right off the City Market, so we got to take advantage of all the beautiful buildings and backgrounds the city has to offer during their bride and groom portraits. Jenny and Sean’s wedding day ended back in the courtyard with them celebrating with all their friends and family.
