Katie and Kyle are married! Katie and Kyle were married underneath this tree, surrounded by their friends and family who all traveled to Charleston to celebrate with them. Their wedding at Wingate Plantation last weekend was all of my favorite things. Beautiful weather, lovely people, historic plantation….
I loved learning about their story while wandering the city during their engagement session and it made it so much more special getting to celebrate with them on the day they were wed! Katie and Kyle met on Halloween weekend while she was dressed as Wonder Woman (yess!! The only superhero comic books I actually read as a kid!) and he was dressed in his work clothes as a “construction worker”. After Kyle was transferred down to Virginia from New York, Katie often visited him and following an extended trip to Europe moved down to be with him. Katie said they just knew. Kyle proposed on a trip to Punta Cana on Katie’s birthday with “Will you marry me?” printed in the daily newsletter she found at breakfast.
Wingate Plantation was the perfect venue for Katie and Kyle’s romantic wedding day. The color scheme was one of my absolute favorites, bringing in rich burgundy with Katie’s bridesmaid dresses along with dusty rose accents and natural greenery, wood and candles. The groomsmen were all in navy blue suits with more of those burgundy tones in their ties. I love seeing brides incorporate bold color at their weddings, it’s so beautiful and different!
Wingate truly is such a peaceful wedding venue in Charleston and Katie and Kyle’s day was so family-filled and joyful. I loved getting to be a part of it and capture their wedding day.
Congratulations, Katie and Kyle!
